Monday February 26th

Today we started with a homework check from Thursday then went through a couple of examples on the board of calculating hours on a time card and calculating the weekly earnings. Then calculating weekly earnings with some overtime at time and a half. Students should be at the end of p.86 today, if they didn't get there in class it was assigned for homework.

Thursday February 22nd

Today we started ch.2 earning an income. Students were assigned to the end of p.80, if it wasn't finished in class it's homework. I will be doing a homework check on Monday.

Wednesday February 21st

Students that were here wrote their ch.1 test. 7 students were away and will need to make it up. We went over some notes for ch.2 and filled in part of them.

Tuesday February 20th

Chapter 1 test is tomorrow.

Monday February 19th

In order to be ready for Wednesday's test, students should be done to the end of page 66 today.

Friday February 16th

To be on track for Wednesday's test, students should be at the end of p.61.

Thursday February 15th

Today students were assigned to the end of page 55 to keep on track for Wednesday's test. If they aren't there yet, it is homework.

Wednesday February 14th

Kathy and I continued to help students with their chapter 1 booklets. To keep on track for Wednesday's test, students were told they should be at the end of p.48 today. If they aren't, they have homework.

Tuesday February 13th

Students continued working in their booklets. The chapter 1 test is next Wednesday. Students were reminded they should at least be at p.39 in their booklet today, and if they aren't, they need to do some homework to catch up.

Friday February 9th

Students continued to work on their chapter 1 booklets. Most problems can be solved by setting up ratios and using the cross multiply then divide strategy.

Thursday February 8th

Students continued to work on their chapter 1 booklet with assistance from myself and our EA. In order to finish the package in time for the chapter test, students should be doing at least 4 pages a day (some of those pages are notes and examples to read through).

Wednesday February 7th

Today I handed out the course outline, a list of chapter test dates for the semester, and briefly explained the numeracy assessment that students will be writing in June. Students worked on their chapter 1 booklets. The chapter 1 test will be on Wednesday, February 21st.

Tuesday February 6th

Some students finished up the math assessment from yesterday, others started on chapter 1.

Semester 2 - Monday February 5th

Today we started off with students writing the beginning of grade 10 DMA so I can get an idea of where everyone's math skills are at.
